It's called Hulu Plus.  And it's not really within Firecore's domain to offer a completely new channel like that.  Check into the plugins for XBMC: http://lifehac.kr/HVqY1H

Hi guys, quick question: Is it possible to get better quality audio out from the AppleTV or is it a hardware limitation? Can I, for example, play 24/48 or 24/96 Apple Lossless or FLAC, etc from the Apple TV without it down-converting. If the file is 24/96, I want it to go out over HDMI to my receiver and get decoded by the receiver's DAC as a 24/96 stream? With the AppleTV and with some of the previous releases, things get down sampled.

Keep up the great work, love the product.

All the best

Still no RAR support. I was really hoping 1.5 would settle this Confused

Submitted by james on April 17, 2012 - 1:17pm

At this point it seems to be a hardware limitation. :(

Submitted by Anon on April 17, 2012 - 1:20pm

DLNA support would be awesome for the next release

Submitted by Anon on April 17, 2012 - 1:22pm

Awesome work guys!

Does this release have support for sharing the "watched" data between multiple ATVs?

Submitted by jan.ove on April 17, 2012 - 1:22pm

Thanks for yet another great update!

And for the nagging:) Any plans for subtitle download from I.e. opensubtitles?

Thanks again, updating ASAP:)

Any chance we could get the PLEX client included with the aTV Flash software again?

Submitted by Anon on April 17, 2012 - 1:26pm

Is PLEX now supported on 5.0?

Submitted by Anon on April 17, 2012 - 1:28pm

You guys are the best! I am naming my next kid after you.

Submitted by james on April 17, 2012 - 1:29pm

Cool

Submitted by Anon on April 17, 2012 - 1:30pm

Is iOS5 (and its jailbreak) required for the update? Because I haven't really got round to updating my ATV!

Submitted by james on April 17, 2012 - 1:30pm

The Plex guys need to put together a 5.0 compatible update.

Feel free to encourage them here. http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/forum/76-apple-tv-2nd-gen/

Submitted by james on April 17, 2012 - 1:31pm

Version 1.5 can be installed on AppleTV version 4.2 or later.

Submitted by Anon on April 17, 2012 - 1:44pm

same for optical out? i was hoping to be able to pipe 24/96k or even 24/192k... no hope?

thanks

Submitted by Anon on April 17, 2012 - 1:44pm

Thanks! Superb product and support!

Submitted by Anon on April 17, 2012 - 1:46pm

Why don't you stop being lazy and read the post, maybe you'll find your answer.

Submitted by Anon on April 17, 2012 - 1:46pm

Is metadata fetching through an *.NFO file with an IMDB URL supported? This seems to be the most efficient way of fetching metadata since it takes the guesswork out with a specific link to the movie metadata. I (and I'm sure many others) have organized their library with *.NFO files since XBMC supports them. Thanks!

You guys rock! Thanks.

Submitted by LarryEeles on April 17, 2012 - 1:51pm

Great thanks for the updates guys.

Any chance of putting in the option to mark all files as watched? Its taking me a month of sundays to do all the TV Shows. Grin

Thanks keep up the good work.

VPN support would be great, so I can bypass stupid atv geolocation restriction. I am in Europe I can't access the NBA channel just because I'm in Europe !! VPN support to a HideMyAss service would fix me up.

Submitted by Anon on April 17, 2012 - 1:59pm

If I install this update will it erase my current settings/XBMC install??

Cheers

Just wondering about the full meaning of the changelog entry "Improved .EYETV file handling". Does this mean that .eyetvsched files are now ignored? If so, great!

And a related question: How do .eyetv files play through Media Player and the Apple TV? I believe at heart they are MPEG2 files. What resolutions play cleanly through a good wireless N connection? Is there a delay while they are compressed/buffered?

Submitted by Anon on April 17, 2012 - 2:12pm

unfortunatelly i bought ATV3 with the prospect of ATV Flash... i hope you develop the software soon...i can't stand on re-editing video to make it compatible with itunes Frown

Yes, unfortunately the limitation applies to both HDMI and optical.

Finding a way to overcome this limitation may be possible at some point down the road, but it's not something we're actively working on at the moment.

Submitted by Anon on April 17, 2012 - 2:21pm

How can I use the Subtitle timing settings?

Submitted by Anon on April 17, 2012 - 2:22pm

James, that's at least good to know. I appreciate the response and the update! That way, I won't have unrealistic expectations on what the box and you all can deliver.

Submitted by james on April 17, 2012 - 2:23pm

This setting can be found in the Subtitles section of the Playback Menu.

The Playback Menu can be accessed by holding the center (select) button while a video is playing.

Submitted by TKMAXX on April 17, 2012 - 2:23pm

James,

Slideshows are no longer working with this update. You can select it from the center button but all it shows is the first picture, it doesnt move on unless you physically click the left or right button.
