Introducing aTV Flash (xbmc edition)

aTV Flash (xbmc edition)

Introducing an all-new platform for running the latest XBMC version 13.2 (Gotham) on the original (silver) Apple TV - including support for the latest video add-ons, 1080p video, and more!

aTV Flash (xbmc edition) is finely tuned, optimized for speed, and provides a complete replacement for the standard Apple TV software.

How does it work?

Installation is done in about 5 minutes using a USB flash drive. We've also built in a special restore option, so should the need ever arise the original Apple TV software can easily be reinstalled at any time.

Is this different from aTV Flash (silver)?

The original aTV Flash (silver) installs add-ons alongside the native Apple TV software, aTV Flash (xbmc edition) replaces the Apple TV software entirely. Each serves a different purpose, but if your main goal is to get XBMC on your Apple TV then aTV Flash (xbmc edition) is the one you want.

Does it play 1080p?

Yes. By installing a special 1080p video card, the original Apple TV will be fully capable of playing most 1080p formats. 1080p video cards are available as an optional add-on when ordering. Note: Installing a 1080p video card replaces the standard Apple TV Wi-Fi card. A directly connected ethernet cable or USB Wi-Fi adapter (also available as an optional add-on) will be required for network access.

aTV Flash (black) 2.5

aTV Flash (black)

aTV Flash (black) 2.5 is here and with it comes the same great trakt sync that made its debut in Infuse 3 for iOS earlier this month. This all-new syncing method allows you to effortlessly keep your watched history in sync between devices. As an example, you can start watching a movie on your Apple TV, then finish it later on your iPad...Infuse will keep everything in sync automatically. Note: Syncing requires a free account.

Naturally, we've also added in a handful of other minor improvements and fixes to keep everything running smoothly.

How do I update?

As usual, updating can be done right on the Apple TV through the Maintenance > Manage Extras menu. If you need to re-install, links for the latest version can be found in your account under the Downloads tab.

If you're new to aTV Flash (black) you can learn more about everything it offers here.

Enjoy Smile

Infuse 3.0.1 - a few fixes

The response to Infuse 3 has been simply amazing, and today we've got a quick bug fix release that addresses a handful of minor issues that have come up.

The most noticeable change in this version relates to how past Pro purchases are handled. Pro features from Infuse 2 are transferred automatically when upgrading to Infuse 3, but soon after the release it was clear we didn't do a great job of indicating this within the app. 3.0.1 does this much more effectively, in an effort to avoid any further confusion.

Also included are a number of behind the scenes improvements to help keep everything running smoothly.

What's new in 3.0.1

  • Better handling of past Pro upgrades
  • Improved AirPlay performance
  • Improved audio track selection
  • Improved reliability when downloading files from some UPnP shares
  • Improved file download logic when AirPlay is active
  • Improved UI performance when AirPlaying videos with AC3/DTS tracks
  • Improved playback of videos with missing or corrupt keyframes
  • Improved reliability of AirPlay when using subtitles
  • Improved UI experience when scrolling backdrops and posters in grid view
  • Improved support for chapters with AirPlay
  • Improved audio track selection with AirPlay
  • Resolved issues with restoring playback position in some cases
  • Other stability and performance improvements

Critical update: Infuse & TMDb

Recently TMDb (the service we use for movie info and artwork) made a few changes to their API. These changes are relatively minor, and will not affect how Infuse works, but they did require us to make a few small adjustments in the way Infuse accesses their service.

These changes are included in new updates, for iOS and Apple TV, and will allow things to continue working as they always have.

I encourage you to install these updates ASAP, as some features in the older versions will soon stop working.

Thanks for your continued support!

Infuse 2 now available

Today we're very excited to announce the release of Infuse 2 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

Infuse 2 introduces a stunning, all-new design for iOS 7 and also features the ability to stream videos from other devices such as a Mac, PC, or network drive.

All-new design

When we first designed Infuse, we had a few simple goals...make a solid app that looks great and is fun to use. With Infuse 2 we've stuck to that same mantra, while at the same time updating the look and feel with a more modern iOS 7 inspired style. What we ended up with is a fantastic balance between clean lines, content, and personality.

Concise video details are surrounded by rich movie artwork that now run from edge to edge. Set behind the ticket is a dynamic background that changes color depending on which title is currently being displayed. Infuse 2 is an app that brings your content to life, and we think its' the most beautiful thing we've ever designed.

Stream from other devices

By far the most requested feature we've had is to be able to stream content without syncing, and with Infuse 2 that dream is now a reality. Infuse 2 empowers you to browse and play content on almost any Mac, PC, or network drive without having to wait for files to transfer or sync. Naturally, we've also made it so features such as AirPlay, subtitles, and trakt scrobbling work while streaming as well.

Infuse 2 is free!

We think Infuse 2 is pretty amazing, and want to allow as many people as possible to enjoy we're making Infuse 2 a FREE app. With the free version you can play everything the normal iOS player can, plus use additional features like drag-and-drop browser uploads, on-the-fly subtitle downloads, trakt scrobbling, and more. No ads, no gimmicks...just a great free app.

Infuse Pro

For those looking to get the most from their videos, we're introducing a new premium option dubbed Infuse Pro. Infuse Pro adds the ability to play additional video formats, stream from network devices, enable multi-format AirPlay and much, much more.

Infuse Pro is one-time In-App purchase, and is now available at an introductory price of $4.99. However as a way of saying thanks, Infuse Pro is a FREE upgrade for those who purchased Infuse 1.5 or earlier.

Note: Current Infuse users should tap the 'Restore' button instead of 'Upgrade Now' on the Infuse Pro upgrade prompt.

Infuse 2 is now available as a FREE download in the App Store.

Enjoy. Smile
