Hi all:
Just started using aTV Flash and love it. I have two AppleTVs but having trouble with FTP transfers to only ONE of them. The problem started after I installed the USB external but will repeat without it (was able to transfer before then). Here are the symptoms:

1- Using CyberDuck or muCommander
2- Navigate to "Movies" subdirectory on AppleTV
3- Attempt to transfer movie (have tried several different movies)
4- At some point (not always the same) of the transfer I get an error (CyberDuck gives an explanation) of "upload failed Broken Pipe"

What I've tried:
1- different movies
2- unplugged the usb drive (restarted ATV)
3- reinstalled aTV Flash and ran the updater

I keep getting the same problem. The other ATV has NO problems and actually, the transfer speeds seem to be MUCH faster(?)
ANY help will be greatly appreciated.
Rick

Have you checked the permissions on the folder?

Hate to ask but, how do I do that?

In the example below, 192.168.1.55 is the IP of my AppleTV.

Here is what it means: https://www.dartmouth.edu/~rc/help/faq/permissions.html

You need to have write permissions to the Movies folder in order to be able to write to it.

server:~$ ssh frontrow@192.168.1.55

Are you placing the movies inside the 'Movies' folder itself, or are you copying them to the external drive's folder that resides inside the Movies folder.

Files placed in the Movies folder will be stored on the internal drive, so you may be running into a space issue.

I am using my external drive as the primary storage (iTunes shows it as the total capacity). However, it DID work when I tried this!!! I assume that anything else showing is in the (ATV) internal drive which can only be written to through iTunes?

Thanks for the help!

When using an external drive as primary storage the drive will appear as 'External Media' inside the Movies folder. Files placed here will be stored on the external drive.
