Plex somehow auto connects trailers with movies so I'm sure infuse could! See here... https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/2029...

I pay for infuse pro each year and for Plex prenium and i use both, because sometimes Plex have difficulties to read some codec. But, i really like infuse and for now, the trailers is missings , if it's possible for Plex to have it, why not with infuse?

+1 on this, would be such a great addition. Doesn't tmdb already have trailers in their API?

To be able to link a Youtube and/or Vimeo trailer, even manually, would be a brilliant feature.

I just noticed that netflix recently just updated their app so that if you hover over an item for 5 seconds or so, the trailer starts playing where the movie art is. This is pretty slick and doesn't require an extra menu or button to play a trailer.

Would be great! It would be totally acceptable if the trailers sometimes matches wrong movie or aren’t found.

I'm very curious, for those that want to have access to trailers in Infuse, what service would you recommend to link to in order to get them?

Would you pay a premium to do this?

Third question, are you willing to accept more lags and slower responses from Infuse since they would be at the mercy of someone else's web site that could be unavailable or very slow at times?"

I can’t imagine it would be that difficult to integrate YouTube movie trailers, but then again I’m not a developer.

Infuse Pro subscribers should have this included in their subscription if and when it is made available as a feature.

I don’t see YouTube having much of an issue with downtime and unavailability.

I’m sure in the past, James had mentioned that adding streaming from YouTube would be a problem due to the Apple App Store Terms and Conditions. Firecore would not want to do anything that would mean Apple would reject submissions to the App Store. Of course I might be mis-remembering this.

It would be enough for me to have the possibility to use local files as trailers. For example you put in the movie folder "Passengers" the file "Passengers (2016).trailer.mkv", so Infuse recognizes the ".trailer." extension as an existing trailer and shows a trailer button on the movie page.

Just my thoughts...

The upcoming Plex support might be a good way to support trailers as well. Another app on the App Store does it this way, so you can play trailers when you have the Plex service setup.

Apple TV 4K --> Denon X6500H 7.1.4 --> LG OLED65C6P
======== SYNOLOGY DS1815+ DS513 ========
iPhone XS Max ||| iPad Pro 10.5

+1 on this. I always felt trailers were missing in Infuse.

www.traileraddict.com
www.rottentomatoes.com/trailers
www.imdb.com/trailers

There are a lot of websites offering trailers, we just need to find one good enough that meets our needs...
I’m not a developer or anything really, so I don’t know what the guidelines are for the App Store or what kind of licensing we need, but IMDb offers licensing on almost everything on their website... rottentomatoes also offers some kind of licensing.
Of course if you’re paying a license to any website for their trailers service, trailers should be an Infuse Pro only feature!
