We have a number of changes in this area available in the current beta version.

We'd love to get some feedback here, so if you are interested in giving this version a try please let me know.

Yes, I would be interested in trying that.

FYI, we've found a lead which we believe will help speed things up.

Working to have this available in the upcoming 6.2.2 release.

Did some of these Plex library sync optimizations make their way into the recent 6.2.1 release? Just curious because I'm noticing a massive improvement in sync time on all my (iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV) devices. Very happy.

6.2.1 includes some general syncing improvements, which apply to both Plex and non-Plex.

Glad to hear things are working well for you. Smile

Beta is definitely quicker. Marking played on a show in Plex app then immediately switching to Infuse and clicking refresh and it updates quickly.

BUT, my main want would be to not have to click refresh at all just like in plex. Is that possible?

This should happen automatically when opening the app.

If the app is already open, you might need to tap refresh.

I finally got home and installed TestFlight on my Apple TV. Then I noticed that the regular Infuse app also had updated to 6.2.2 on November 8th, and it is one digit above the build number shown in the beta. Did this just get published immediate or is there something new in the beta anyway?

Sorry for the confusion.

The 6.2.2 (2815) version on the App Store includes a single change to address a crash that could happen in 6.2.1.

The changes for Plex are included in the beta version of 6.2.2 (2814) will be rolled into 6.2.3 for the App Store release.

I see, I'll install that version again to test then.

However just like mweisel noticed in post #37 this version and its general improvements had also massively sped up finding new episodes to the point that I was thinking I had whatever the fix is already.

Could I get an invite to the beta? The slow update/indexing is what kept me away but would love to try this. I use iphone/ipad/apple tv 4k... all have testflight on it.

So i have the beta now on my apple tv and iphone x... both are taking HOURS to index... to be fair its the first time.. so just so I understand.. each device needs to index everything the first time? I thought icloud sync would fix this... My server is 16000 movies and 5500 tv shows.. I let it run over night on the apple tv and it still wasnt done.. my phone seems to be stuck on "fetching content for ... server"... I thought the beta was supposed to be a lot faster...?

Update... my phone currently says 114 of 213440... this will take days.. is this normal? Just to fetch artwork... what are my options?

Can I get a beta invite? I’m facing the same issue. I left infuse months ago because of it but this would bring me back!

Each device has to download the artwork separately. It is only the metadata that is synced via iCloud.

Support for syncing artwork via iCloud is on the roadmap for a future release although I have no idea of the ETA.

We believe this should be much improved in today's 6.2.3 release.

Please give it a try and let us know if you run into any further issues.

I have given up. Beta app on Apple TV. I’ve paid for the upgraded version whatever you call it. I left it for a week and it loaded 22Gb of meta data which I think filled my AppleTV and it just stopped... I left it for a full day and it just was stuck on loading up next list. Am I doing something wrong? There has to be a better way? I love the look of infuse over Plex and find it’s more reliable when playing media. But it’s so slow and doesn’t load anything.

James can you pm me or comment?

I've been using 6.1.6, 6.2, 6.2.1 and now 6.2.3 since it was released and it doesn't improve my situation. I too, have the issue of Infuse never finishing incremental updates of my Plex library. I have sent quite a few logs to your support email (subject "Library update never finishes"). But every time I get the the same useless response with a link to the release notes & suggestion of updating and trying again.

Is it possible to get in direct contact with a developer such that we can find the root cause of this? Besides the lack of bit streamed audio, I much prefer Infuse to other solutions available.

Also, please invite me to the TestFlight beta, I'll happily assist if it means someone will fix this issue.

edit: Favorites -> Library shows "Last Update: 17 days ago"

As others have mentioned in this thread, it seems that large amounts of metadata impacts this. Under settings it showed that I was using 11 GB, then I idled some on that page, then it went to 2xx MB, went back to the main menu and back, 11 GB. Now it shows 9 GB. It has a constant loading animation on top of the data usage amount. Now it disappeared, and it shows 11 GB. I don't even.

I have uploaded a fresh diagnostics report with the code 4SPW0. Infuse Pro 6.2.3 (build 2848). Have had the Apple TV turned on for 3 hours or so.

Like suggested in this thread, it seems odd that Infuse replicates Plex' metadata & library. I personally just want the Infuse player on top of my Plex library, no fuss with waiting hours for the library to update. That kills the mood.

I have taken pictures of Plex and Infuse respectively, on which it can be seen that even after 3 hours of Infuse getting time to do its business, it has not caught up with Plex: https://photos.app.goo.gl/QwEefddWZqo9qj298

I have the exact same issue as user above... yet no comment from developers..
I left infuse on for 3 days... it got all the artwork... and then moved to... something else... but then it randomly stopped and got stuck on one of the steps.. the metadata jumped from 22gb to **mbs... to 2gb... I just dont understand.

I'm not sure why this is marked as solved when it's still an issue for multiple people.

Hi again,

I managed to do an incremental sync on Sunday, after leaving Infuse running most of the day. I haven't been able to since (Monday & today Tuesday).

Another day, another Infuse release. Like clockwork, I received another demeaning Zendesk ticket update from Firecore. In my previous communication I asked how quickly I can expect an incremental update to finish, I received the following response: "The updates should pop up pretty quickly, within a matter of seconds/minutes.". This is curious, because that implies it shouldn't take a full day to finish an incremental update.

I'm not sure how I can reach an actual developer. Is Firecore outsourcing its development?

Still having issues. Does it sync the library with Plex while watching content? I watched a 1h 30m movie in Infuse and it still hasn't updated on deck fully. Recently added movies doesn't match Plex and it's missing episodes from 3 out of 6 series in "On Deck".

I only use Infuse as a client to my Plex server (i.e. I don't access any files directly on my NAS using SMB) and this is still happening with the latest 6.2.5 release from the App Store. Even aftermaking a minor change, such as watching a few minutes of a show, Plex takes minutes to update its index and reflect this new status. For this issue alone, I've stopped using Infuse and installed the native Plex client, which works flawlessly now with its enhanced video player. It's too bad, because otherwise Infuse is a very nice app, but this issue with Plex integration is a deal-breaker for me.

My Apple TV 4K is on the latest tvOS 13.3 version.

I have stopped using Infuse as a result of this not being addressed. I have also steered others away from Infuse because of this. They should pull Plex support if it is not going to work as expected.
