Strange... I did that too but I only found the newer/smaller version of the 8F305 build. But just now I found one with the first click.

Here's the link: http://appldnld.apple.com/AppleTV/041-0596.20110511.Zz7mC/AppleTV2,1_4.3...

But just now the file was only 116mb. A little earlier 326mb...

I uploaded the working 326mb file, you can dl it here: [link removed]  (shareable dropbox link)

Hope this helps...

Regards

So this makes 3 different versions of the "same" build... interesting. ^^

hope where will be an seas0npass update soon which can handle with the situation...

at the moment seas0npass loads the version with 290mb... earlier that day the 119mb version, but both don´t work.

snowbreeze doensn´t work either

and surprise: seas0npass loads now a version with 117mb, so try to jailbreak every 5 minutes, maybe you get a working version Frown

I would expect all the smaller versions of the file to be ones that have been truncated (and are therefore invalid).

Just download the working IPSW file I posted a few posts ago. In Seas0nPass you can browse for it with pressing SHIFT + Click on "Create IPSW" (on Win)  or ALT + Click on "Create IPSW" (on a Mac). So you don't have to download it every single try Wink

Hi guys,

i really need some help getting my apple tv 4.2.2. devive jailbroken. The last 2 days i've been trying litterly 100 different solutions but none works.

When i use Pwnage i get firmware bundle errors, when i use Seas0npass i get iTunes script failuers and the message 'your device isn't eligable'.

Following the normal steps i get stuck at the unzipping step. Seas0npass just keeps bussy unzipping but never finish (even after 4 hours).
I tried the solution of loading a downloaded ipsw file in to seasonpass but this leads to itunes errors.

Is there someone who can help?

I found  windows XP pro worked more often than win 7 64bit, i also found it took 6 down loads befor i got a file to unzip,  it seems if there is a slight corruption in the download the file wont unzip, try down loading different times of the day till you get a copy to unzip.

my best down load was at 6 am in the morning Smile

Hi,

I have the following problem, would be happy if someone can give me a hint

By following the instructions in order to install Seas0nPass I received the following message "iTunes restore script failed...". As described I tried manually select the IPSW in iTunes but I can't find the generated IPSW file on my computer. Where is it, it is not in the home directory or somewhere else. Is it possible, that it was never created?

Miker, follow the instructions.. First put all the files on your desktop, then after installing SOP download the IPSW, it unzippes and does all sorts of stuff. When Itunes starts, don't do anything. It should select the IPSW you put on your desktop.

Good luck.

Hi, same for me here. I tried every single hint I could find on the internet but my atv2 won´t go to dfu mode at all. It starts blinking fast and whenever I stop pushing Menu+Play, it stops blinking and does nothing.

Any other hint mybe?

Trying the new 0.7.7 Seas0nPass and ios 5 on my AppleTV2, everything goes through fine but when I plug back into the TV I get the connect to iTunes image. It seems as thought it needs a tethered boot?

With greenp0ison I finally managed to jailbreak (I guess), but it now seems to be tethered and I don't have the possibility to do a tethered boot near my TV Frown
So I have to wait till a new untethered jb is released

After making the mistake of hitting the System Update button a month ago, I finally got this to work. I managed to jailbreak using PwnageTool 4.3.3.1 on a Dell Mini Hackintosh running OSX 10.6.4, iTunes 10.3.1. The ATV is on 4.2.1. A little background: since Netflix was not running properly, I updated the ATV to latest firmware which let Netflix run fine, but broke PLEX. I got the same error messages when trying to jailbreak using Seas0nPass and restore in iTunes. I then tried Greenp0ison with no success, in spite of using every .ipsw file going back to the one it shipped with. But using the latest PwnageTool and 4.2.1, iTunes did NOT choke on restore, and no error messages. I managed to ssh in, install PLEX, and got everything running, even Netflix. If you're on a Mac and want to run PLEX/nitoTV, I highly recommend trying the PwnageTool/4.2.1 combo. Good luck!
