Option 1, definitely. I use 98% of the time the media player and it's a great function if I can access it directly. I don't like the idea of a blank 'icon' though I rather see something like the firecore logo or a 'play'-symbol.

I'm all for Option 2 --- as long as the Media player can have the first place on the second row of icons, I think that's ideal.  Make it as native looking as possible.

Option 1 looks great. Got my new AppleTV3 today, a day early. Can't wait for firecore to work their magic. Until then I'll be sticking to my AppleTV2.

1 For me I think! The integration looks very nice and it's a lot more convenient than #2!

I'll be going with Option 1 Smile Although it takes more time to integrate it looks far smoother, and faster access

Option 2 with Icons that can be removed/rearranged.

Exactly, what I see is that most of the folks voting for option #1 use the media player as their primary non-apple channel.  I have found the media player to be buggy at times and have a household that consumes far more Netflix than the same 30 or 40 videos I have on the SMB drive.  Being able to arrange functionality based on each users preference is much preferable.  Instead of having only one item be one click closer this approach makes any number of channels/functions fewer clicks away.

Option 1 as I said before I think i prefer, as Long as it doesnt clutter the main menus from Apple. as Long as firecore is self contained for maintanenace.

Im due to get my ATV3 next week, so be nice to upgrade both atv2 & atv3 to same ios 5 soon. So what is the eta of this new interface and untethered jailbreak?

I also like Option 1.

One more thing. I would like to see the option to disable unused buttons. Is this possible?

NHL, NBA,VIMEO, WSJ, MLB, NETFLIX

They all do not make sense for me in europe.

Thanks.

Option 1, as it provides for a much better user experience. Every click-through counts! Also, can you please consider integrating a separate/new main menu button to "Sleep Now"? Thank you!

Why the need for a top level sleep menu option? ...you know you can just hold select down while in the main menu, right?

Oh, and Option 1 is my preference. The top row of buttons having more shouldn't matter, so long as they're evenly spaced and not too cramped for aesthetics who cares. In any case, TV Shows or one of the others will most likely be hidden. Plus in the Option 1 offering, you get the better present Top Shelf entry for My Movies.

One question, how are you going to handle apps like Overflow. I used it to contain XBMC, nitoTV, Media Player etc.

Also, will a feature be added to remove buttons for MLB, and the others either not available or unwatched/unwanted?

Is there a timeline as to when something will be available as my ATV3 will be arriving today!!! Smile

Cheers
Mr A

Definitely option 1. I have 'computers' hidden and would prefer to keep the top bar of previously watched.

I would love to see "Settings" lowered in the interface. So, I prefer #1 plus the demotion of "Settings".

Think we should resolve the other/current issues we are having with the current iOS before we think about the future?

Option #2, Id rather have it quicker. You can always code option #1 into settings as an option. I also think that changing the size of the icons to make a sixth icon would cause unwanted glitches. I appreciate all your work!
