Great job! You guys are outstanding!
Thank you!

Still rubbish. Very slow to play TS files recorded on my DreamBox even basic definition, I'm not even talking about HD movies. XBMC is free and much better.
Also by the time Couch Pro opens web page I can make a cup of coffee.

Subtitle sync is great!

How do i get iOS 5.0 - without a new jailbreak?

Submitted by Anon on April 17, 2012 - 2:58pm

It does seem to work on separate sub-files, and not on embedded subtitles.

Very pleased with your product

Just the fact that we can Jailbreak our apple tv box is a huge bonus, and then you guys supply us with all of this.

Brilliant

Update went without a hitch, but after watching 2 TV Shows the Apple TV would lock up almost completely - never had that happen before. While I could navigate through the menus (although not all - Maintenance > Settings would not ket itself be selected, although About and the top one under Maintenance would (forgot the name, the one with all the installs)), the AppleTV refuses to playback any mediatype - movie related stuff from Apple would give a playback error, anything under Media would soft reset the AppleTV. I had to pull the plug to get the darn thing to work again (AppleTV 4.4.x). Sent in diagnostic info, but could only do that after the reboot.

On the plus side - Castle episode playback went fine, while before that was the only series where I had consistent audio problems.

Submitted by AJvK on April 17, 2012 - 3:35pm

I'm thinking you can't. Me, I'm waiting for a untethered jailbreak, and 4.4.x works fine

Submitted by HJ on April 17, 2012 - 3:41pm

Great! Thanks for the update. Some files that weren't working (well) are playing fine now. Also, the subtitle timing adjustment feature is awesome!

I'm still having the problem of disappearing subtitles, though. They display fine for some time, but disappear after a couple of minutes. I have to reselect the subtitle file to get them back. Quite annoying.

Also, is support planned for motion JPEG files in AVI containers? My old Canon PowerShot saved videos in that format, which the FireCore media player still refuses to play. It would be fantastic to be able to play back those home videos on my TV.

aTV Flash (black) is a great enhancement for the AppleTV device. I look forward to continuing development and a future jailbreak for the aTV3.

thanks aTV Team for providing the community quality releases and updates.

Best bet would be to make a backup copy of your XMBC setup.

When I'm updating through the Maintenance --> Manage Extras menu, is it as simple as just updating the individually available updates?  Or, is there a comprehensive update?

I'm very new to this, but having a great time getting into it!

Submitted by jxenikakis@xeni... on April 18, 2012 - 12:55am

I live in Greece and this hapens to me when in the subtitle encoding menu  I choose Greek ISO and then play a movie with English subs. It starts fine in English and the subs it desipear after a few miutes. I suspect it is the same case here. Check the encoding as always must match the subtitles.

Submitted by Anon on April 18, 2012 - 1:12am

Is support for rmvb files in the works?

Xbmc was able to play them, but now xbmc is not on the list in Maintenance.

Submitted by ton on April 18, 2012 - 1:33am

The "improved" EyeTV handling is really great and just what was needed! Good job!

But why warn? The .eyetv is a package = folder and played is a regular .mpg. So should be just as much/little problem as a .mp4, .m4v, .avi and-so-on.

Not as easy as www.overplay.net! Their SmartDNS system is brilliant. No messing about with VPNs or proxies..

Submitted by brett7 on April 18, 2012 - 1:56am

Still no XBMC? Your site states XBMC is included. Look on the bottom: http://firecore.com/atvflash-black in "Included Software -> Media Player: XBMC". That the only reason I updated. Now this sucks.

register and use a proxy server (unblock us), add the IP address to the ATV settings, and change iTunes location to UK or USA. then on mine iCloud appears under 'Music'. easy stuff!

Submitted by Anon on April 18, 2012 - 3:06am

iPlayer overseas!

This seems a perpetual challenge for me. I live in Italy and have ATV2 with FCore Flash installed. I use a UK DNS and can get iCloud and Netflix to work fine. The only thing that wont work is iPlayer, i've installed the XBMC plug-in but no success. Anyone know another way??

Submitted by millefredl on April 18, 2012 - 3:06am
