Apple TV has about 9 built in transitions under its screen saver menu.

When I play photo slideshows from a folder on my external hard drive, it only plays with the reflection transition. I would like to be able to use other transitions such as the floating, origami, scrapbook, photo mobile and holiday mobile. Is there any way to change the default transition under atvflash when playing from my hard drive or is this fixed unto reflections only?

We've had lots of request for Spotify - hopefully it will make it into a future version.

Submitted by james on November 17, 2011 - 3:20pm

Hmm. Probably best to open a support ticket so we can track down what's going on.

Submitted by james on November 17, 2011 - 3:20pm

Lots more to come. Stay tuned. :)

Any chance you can send in a FLAC file you're having trouble with?

Submitted by james on November 17, 2011 - 3:22pm

Are you running the latest 1.0 version?

Submitted by supersutil on November 17, 2011 - 4:23pm

When is the support for untethered version coming out and will it be supporting XBMC?

Submitted by Pytek on November 17, 2011 - 4:23pm

Nope.....still the beta. Is this feature now available on the new version?

Submitted by Mirchichor on November 17, 2011 - 4:52pm

Any plans to get watchespn.com website working with aTV2? I understand that their desktop based streaming is flash, but iOS devices can receive HTML5 video as well. Any comments?

Good job. Really am enjoying this product - it makes the ATV2 rock. Version 1.0 fixed a problem I had reported and looks like it may be fixing another problem also.

I found that I couldn't run the installer from XP (claimed ATV2 was not jailbroken) - but running from Windows 7 installed w/o a hitch.

Thanks to Firecore team - For the money, this is the best beta and now official software I've installed on any platform.

Submitted by Anon on November 18, 2011 - 4:03am

I have bought a copy of this software ages back. Is it subscription based or will I be happy to have v 1.0 for the rest of my ATV2's life?

Great job with this release. Are any of these features going to be available on ATV 1 in a future update, like the grid view?

Submitted by james on November 18, 2011 - 8:54am

Hopefully yes, but no ETA just yet.

Submitted by james on November 18, 2011 - 8:55am

We reset all start dates for pre-orders (dating back to Dec of last year). If you submitted a pre-order during this time version 1.0 will be available in you account.

Submitted by james on November 18, 2011 - 9:04am

Awesome! Glad to hear you're enjoying it.

Submitted by james on November 18, 2011 - 9:06am

Details for what's included in 4.4.3 can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4448

An updated version of Seas0nPass will be available soon.

Submitted by james on November 18, 2011 - 9:09am

Sorry about that. Would you mind opening a support ticket?

Submitted by james on November 18, 2011 - 9:10am

Pretty sure it was fixed in RC1. Your best option would be to install 1.0.

Submitted by james on November 18, 2011 - 9:11am

1.0 can be installed by running the 1.0 installer from your Mac or PC. This will install/replace the Beta/RC1 version you currently have installed.

Submitted by Nawaf22 on November 18, 2011 - 9:31am

Coach Surfer is taking ages to load Engadget.com then I get a memory warning when I scroll down. Still not fixed :(

You should be able to use the 8GB available on the device, right?

Working great! MY ATV1 dying as the best thing that could have happened. Loving every minute of my enhanced ATV2. One thing though, and maybe this is supposed to happen, but if not then consider this a bug report: tried watching a TV Show after updating to aTV Flash (black) 1.0, and got an error message that connection to my media server through AFP had failed. After updating the Mediaplayer everything started working again.

Me = happy camper.

Submitted by Mirchichor on November 18, 2011 - 12:45pm

Are there any plans to get support for Plex with aTV Flash(black) on iOS 4.4.2? I really like the way Plex presented the media collection. For example, episodes of a particular show will be put together. Media player doesn't offer that capability. Even the artwork/title music was picked up by Plex.

Submitted by Anon on November 18, 2011 - 2:46pm

Just to be clear before I purchase. This will enable me to watch movies (ISO's, AVI's MPK's etc...) I have stored on a separate hard drive wirelessly through my ATV2 to whatever TV my ATV2 is hooked up too? I just jail broke my ATV2 with season pass.

Submitted by Anon on November 18, 2011 - 2:58pm

I ordered the software from you guys and found it wasn't what I needed. I have tried to contact you twice but no call back was made. I really would like my money back!

Hi James.

Yes, it records @ 60FPS interlaced.

I can send you a short video sample.  How would you like me to send it?

Very new to this, so I downloaded and paid for the wrong version. I jumped in thinking the more expensive version must be the latest and greatest... stupid me. Anyway, I sent an email to support last night explaing my stupidity... this morning I received a return email with links to the version I should have downloaded (aTV black), and also, they had credited my PayPal account for the $10 that I didn't need to spend!  Awesome customer service. Thanks guys. A very happy camper, and now a loyal fan.  :-)

This software rocks! Thank you guys! Just two very minor things:

The meta data for Hawaii Five-0 does not load. Also for the movie W. (with Josh Brolin, 2008).

Try to update my RC1 version but installer says my ATV2 has the latest update. Any suggestions?

Submitted by Potshot Loki on November 19, 2011 - 11:25am

I really love the software, I do. It is my go to media player. But EVERY morning the only way to get it to boot is to power cycle the aTV2. EVERY morning. Seems like it doesn't understand the day changed. Sometimes I need to power cycle a couple of times for it to boot too.

Still love the software except for that. Oh, and still crashy.

Any chance it will support ISO bluray?

I always send in reports.C07DHR4GDDR5

Still a great job.

I also place vote for file names under grid views. Not that anyone was voting :D

Submitted by tbm on November 19, 2011 - 11:59am

You can not update via maintenance menu. You have to use the installer from MAC or PC.

  • Rename Hawaii Five-0 to Hawaii Five0
  • Hold the select button for 2 seconds and choose reload metadata and select W.(2008)

I've bin testing and testing the AC3. This still is not working!

PLEASE fix this!

I know my radio and tv CAN handle AC3! (wdtv is working perfect on my stuff)

I have bin googling the internet for a solution but nothing came up, only some people at XBMC said there was a problem with
the original apple tv build software. But the say you need at lest version 4.3 (i got this version)

Please help, it is driving me nuts!

Hi, is there a bug with the web page of google music? I can't get in with the aTV browser. That's bad! Is there any plugging to get into Google music? I need it. Thanks.

Submitted by tpe on November 20, 2011 - 10:38am

Hi, after updating,  jailbreaking 4.4.3 (Ses0nPass) and installing 1.0 nearly everything works fine - except Movie Rentals and TV-Shows which cant be selected anymore without crashin the atv2 - even Posters cant be seen on top of the main menu when hovering on Top-Movies.

Anybody else got the same problem or an idea how to fix it?

Hi there

Got a few questions. I´m currently using XBMC and was trying out ATV Flash with Media Player. For my existing setup each movie is in its seperate folder together with subtitles and a folder.jpg. This setup doesnt really work 100% when it comes to folder levels and metadata. Any plans on supporting the structure that each movie has its own folder?

Secondly, what would the ideal folder and file storing system for TV shows?

Submitted by Anon on November 20, 2011 - 8:14pm

Holy eff balls this software is pretty cool. Although I prefer the XBMC interface quite a bit more, this is an awesome alternative to the SMB debacle i've been having with XBMC. Love it! easy to install and works like a charm! You guys rock!

I have this same issue, would be great to get it fixed....

It's the only thing letting down this software.
