Hi Firecore...it is SO FREAKING COOL that you have made more languages to the ATV software including my language (Danish) Smile And the other features is cool to...so keep up the GOOD work and make this the most perfect flash for the Apple Tv unit ever!!! Smile Best regards from here...

Would it be possible to make the zoom option a bit more "intelligent" and take action based on the video format? I would really like it to stretch the 4:3 videos automatically and leave other formats untouched.

Even with the new global zoom setting we still have to manually select the zoom setting each time we switch between 4:3 and other formats (which happens a lot as the kids like to watch the old 4:3 cartoons in stretched mode, but this is no good for new ordinary movies).

This is planned for a future version.

Stay tuned. ;)

Submitted by james on February 9, 2012 - 12:38pm

Thanks, that is a great suggestion.

We can probably very easily add two additional global zoom options "4:3 Crop" and "4:3 Stretch" that would only apply to 4:3 content.

Hi Ravi,
Great comment. What is the BEST way to organize your content so that the movie and tv covers are recognized? I'd appreciate any suggestions as right now I have a folder tree that doesn't work so great...
Thanks
Jeff

After installing the update the aTV maintenance menu is in Italian! How do I change it back to English? I can not find any language options for this...grrrrr >Frown

Submitted by Anon on February 9, 2012 - 3:56pm

That would be fantastic and really useful.

Submitted by bloodypom on February 9, 2012 - 4:54pm

I'm still lost James... what are these 'advanced' options that are now supported?

Submitted by davidb.1496 on February 9, 2012 - 5:24pm

Well - this update def improved MKV playback.

Before (1.2) - no way - useless.

But now - seems like it's running perfect. Complete with VOB subtitles in there.

Not if only I could get "tv show's" in the list view to show a frame rather than the metadata art I'd be completely happy.

Media Player fast/skip forward is still my concern. Any plan of changing it to VLC type of skipping a movie forward in steps of 30 seconds at a time. I like that way a lot.

Submitted by Potshot Loki on February 9, 2012 - 8:49pm

What does this mean, from the latest update?

"Added support for folder based organization/playback"

I would love to see folder resume playback when using it as a playlist.

Great job as usual!

You could simply prevent the apple tv from sleeping.

the most MKVs are now running fine ! But some aren´t. Is there a good alternative for MakMKV for Windows (7) ?

Submitted by schaefer.christoph on February 10, 2012 - 4:21am

MKV and 5.1 works fine with my ATV flash 1.3 ! Only a few mkvs are stuttering ( made with MakeMKV; I would like a alternative, but didn´t found a good one for Win 7)

Submitted by schaefer.christoph on February 10, 2012 - 4:26am

I use makeMKV too, and after that I use handbrake to get the H264 and to lower the filesize a bit too.

WHen I install Atvflash 1.3 ,everytime in the right upper hook of the screen the sign "MENU EXTRAS" is coming up

all the time,how to avoid??

Submitted by Anon on February 10, 2012 - 10:20am

You spend so much time on minor enhancements without working on the BIG PICTURE.
Until you work out a Flash capability, aTV Flash will continue to be a small backwater app with few buyers.

Submitted by james on February 10, 2012 - 10:23am

The language settings can be adjusted through the Settings --> General --> Language menu.

Hi,
First of all, great work on the updates.
Although, on 1.2 and 1.3, I can't get the subtitle (in .srt format) to work. If I pause the tv show/ movie and enter in that pref pane by holding the center button, it says the subtitle is selected, but nothing shows up. I've even tried on movies I previously seen working. This happens through the Media Player app.
Can you help? Do you need any more info?
Thanks in advance.

i access my files shared on a synology NAS via AFP. Since the latest update, every file names get shorten with "..." most of the time, the "..." appear right after the first word in the name (like "The ..." for "The Invicibles.xvid.avi") and sometimes i only get "..." as a file name. When the item is highlighted, text disappears.
I will try reconfiguring the share as AFP and also will activate the SMB on my NAS.

Which encoding type are you using?

You may try adjusting the encoding type setting in the Playback Menu to see if you have better results.

here mp always wants to start something inside a folder and after 1-2 minutes i get a playback error warning. even on files which played with v1.2.

can't use/try mp, going back to xbmc.

new/changed behaviour of software MUST be optional, not forced.

Hi there

Thanks for the good work you keep doing. However ever since I updated the 'MEDIA' bit to 1.3 it won't play ISO files anymore. It starts and buffers on end. Then a message comes up telling me that my network may not be fast enough. It was fast enough when used version 1.2. The look and feel was remarkably improved but no playback.

Luckily XMBC still plays my ISO films. Any ideas?

Look forward to hearing from you!

Martin

In the next version could include this:

In addition to access to the canals of France on the web, as France 24 and Millennium TV in Mexico?

Hi,
Thanks for your suggestion, but I've already changed the encoding to universal UTF-8 so that it supports Portuguese subtitles, but no luck.
For example, a movie starts, and the first subtitle (normally the movie title) appear, but then, they never show up again...
What could that be?

thanks

Pedro

Since updating to atv Flash Black 1.3, while watching a movie in Netflix I constantly get bumped out of the movie and sent back to the main Apple TV 2 menu.

Not sure anyone else is experiences this, nor found anything related in the forum.  I'd love to post a log file if someone can guide me a bit as to how and how to post it.

Other than this, love Firecore - keep up the great work!!

Thank you,

TD

Your may try using one of the Western European settings instead of UTF-8 to see if you have better luck.

Submitted by uncbaggie on February 12, 2012 - 3:43am

usenet + media player have pretty much rendered our cable tv useless, but we could really use parental controls in media player.  they don't need to be smart (ratings based).  simply having the ability to password/pin lock out certain folders would be enough.  please?

I'll gather all data and send in a bug rep.

I've been loving aTV Flash - any way to add in slacker radio or pandora support?

Submitted by Anon on February 12, 2012 - 12:35pm

I second that. In fact the position of the subtitles and the automatic download of them is the only reason I use XBMC.
you are making a great media player at firecore.

Folders work great save for the instance of a movie that is split in 2 parts...is there a way to add support for this? Does it already exist and I just don't know about it?
