YouTube Returns to ATV2

aTV Flash (black)

YouTube for ATV2 has returned!

WIth the release of aTV Flash (black) 2.6, we've built an all-new native YouTube plugin that provides many of the most popular YouTube features that were so rudely taken away from our loyal ATV2 fans last May. This new YouTube plugin works on any ATV2 running Apple TV 5.3 or later.

Naturally, we've also added in a handful of other minor improvements and fixes to keep everything humming along smoothly.

What can I do?

The new YouTube plugin for ATV2 allows for browsing of popular videos as well as searching for videos, channels, users, or playlists. We're also working on a few other neat options for subsquent releases, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for updates.

What's new in 2.4?

Deck the Halls With Infuse 2.1

Ho, ho, ho. Over the past two weeks we've had an amazing response to the release of Infuse 2, and some awesome suggestions from all of you to go along with it. Cult of Mac recently named Infuse 2 “The best media player for iPhone and iPad” and today we're happy to announce Infuse is getting even better in version 2.1, which is available just in time for the holidays.

Infuse 2.1 is overflowing with holiday cheer as now free users can play even more video formats! We've also added some other great new things including an all-new variable speed scrubbing option, support for more subtitles, better translations and a whole bunch of under-the-hood magic to make enjoying your favorite videos on your iPhone or iPad better than ever.

Variable speed scrubbing

One of the more noticeable improvements in 2.1 is the addition of an all-new variable speed scrubbing option. Variable speed scrubbing is a great way to fast-forward or rewind with the ultimate level of control. To activate variable speed scrubbing just hold the playback position dot and drag down to get finer control, or up to increase the scrubbing speed.

aTV Flash (black) 2.2

The wait is over, and today we're happy to release updated versions of aTV Flash (black) and Seas0nPass that support the recently released 5.2 (iOS 6.1) Apple TV software. Big thanks goes to the evad3rs for making much of this possible.

Hooray for Bluetooth!

To the delight of many loyal users, Apple officially added support for Bluetooth keyboards in Apple TV 5.2, and we've been working non-stop to provide a seamless experience in aTV Flash (black) 2.2. Now features such as web browsing, media playback, library browsing and more can all be controlled using a wireless keyboard. Don't worry, the normal remote will still work as well.

Happy New Year & aTV Flash (black) 2.1

Happy New Year! To help start 2013 off on the right foot we've got a fresh new version of aTV Flash (black) for your enjoyment. In this new version we've worked to included a number of highly requested features as well as a slew of other improvements, fixes and all-around goodness. We're also working on some other really great things that will be available in the coming weeks/months, but for now a few highlights of what's included in the 2.1 update can be found below.

TV Show Playlists

Now it's easier than ever to pick up where you left off with your favorite show. After you decide which show to watch, simply hold the center button and choose the playlist option. That's it! You'll be taken to the first unwatched episode, and will continue playing until your run out of shows or your eyes turn into puffy white marshmallows, whichever comes first.

aTV Flash (black) 2.0

We are pleased to announce the release aTV Flash (black) 2.0 for the 2nd generation Apple TV. Version 2.0 goes beyond just watching videos, and adds in a ton of new features that make browsing and watching media on the Apple TV more enjoyable than ever.

2.0 is a free update for all current aTV Flash (black) users, so keep reading for more details on everything that's new.

Browse by category

The new Library View will now index all your media (even if stored on multiple devices) and automatically organize movies, TV shows and music into easy to use categories such as: genre, release date, star rating, age rating and others. TV shows will also be group by series/season automatically so there's no more worrying about keeping your folders perfectly organized.

While we think this is a great new way to browse and enjoy your media, the original file/folder based browsing will remain intact and working as an alternative option.

aTV Flash 4.5

aTV Flash 4.5 for the 1st generation (silver) Apple TV is now available. Version 4.5 includes support for OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) as well as a handful of general improvements and fixes. We're also still working on a number of additional features for the 1st gen models and plan to have additional updates available soon.
